Overview:

In-country is a British education management company launched in 2016 and now has a team of more than fifty people across Delhi, Mumbai, Lahore, and the UK. We manage the South Asian student recruitment operations for multiple blue-chip international universities and work on creative and exciting projects for many others. Our main office is located in Amar Colony, New Delhi.

In-country is looking to appoint a Recruitment Officer to work as part of our dedicated team for our client, the University of Gloucestershire.

Location: Delhi

Travel: Yes, extensive domestic travel within India will be required 

Responsibilities:

  • To attend education exhibitions to meet with potential University of Gloucestershire applicants and guide them on the University’s courses and entry requirements.

  • To support the rollout of In-country’s strategy to deliver the student recruitment goals for the University, in line with the company’s services to the University.

  • Reaching out to offer holders and prospective students through calls and email campaigns.

  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with schools, universities, agency partners, and other key stakeholders in India.

  • Creating opportunities for the University of Gloucestershire to develop university partners in India by researching potential partners and introducing those potential partners to the University of Gloucestershire.

  • Overseeing data capture from events and agents. Ensuring the GDPR-compliant storage and transfer of data between In-country and the University of Gloucestershire.

  • Ensuring that leads gathered from events are appropriately stored on the In-country leads monitoring sheet and then followed up with an aim of converting from enquiry to application/offers to acceptance.

Communication and Liaison

  • Rolling out In-country’s agent communications strategy for the University of Gloucestershire.

  • Managing a generic India email account to respond to student and agent queries, and escalating issues (via the In-country Account Manager) to university officials when necessary.

  • Conducting market research and providing market intelligence on the Indian market to the wider International Recruitment Team based in the UK, supporting the University’s broader marketing and communications strategy.

  • Identifying and targeting schools, colleges, and education partners across India to increase the University’s brand visibility. Engaging with school and college counsellors and delivering sessions to students to boost interest in the University’s programs.

  • Planning and delivering events for offer-holders, enquirers, and prospective students to support In-country’s conversion strategy for the University of Gloucestershire.

Person Specification 

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification/relevant professional experience) with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in higher education.

  • Experience working within the UK higher education sector.

  • Experience of working with education agents and other external stakeholders.

  • An understanding of UK higher education admissions processes and the international student journey.

  • Knowledge of UKVI quality and compliance requirements.

  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Excellent public speaking skills, with the ability to present to and influence large audiences.

  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities/projects.

  • Data handling skills, with the ability to analyse large data sets. This includes the use of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Professional attitude, with the ability to engage with and establish good working relationships across all levels, including internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to use initiative to solve problems and demonstrate quick thinking.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work with minimal supervision, both as part of a team and independently.

  • Ability to undertake extensive travel within India.
