Position Overview
In-country is looking to appoint a Country Manager to work as part of our dedicated team for our client, Keele University.

Reporting To: Account Manager, Keele University Account at In-country
Travel Required: Yes, frequent domestic travel within India will be required.
Person specification:
Minimum 5 years of experience within the International Education Recruitment space in India
A graduate from a prestigious university in India or overseas
Strength in verbal and written communication skills in English
Experience and/or appreciation of living in the UK (or a similar country) and its working culture
Experienced with business travel
Strong and detailed understanding of UK university admissions and visa processes (UKVI)
Experience of strategic development in the HE recruitment context across the UK and India
Understanding and experience of education agents
Analytical skills to handle, assess and explain data, aid decision-making making
Possess a commercially focused growth mindset that allows the post holder to engage with change positively

Main duties and accountabilities:
To maintain public status as an employee of In-country India and not as an official of Keele University at all times
To oversee student recruitment operations in India for Keele University, supported by the In-country Senior Management Team and the Global Engagement Team at the University
Contribute to the execution and planning of the conversion, agent outreach, school outreach, and marketing strategy
Contribute to the development and planning of the India marketing budget
Plan and conduct events targeted at offer holders and enquirers to support In-country’s conversion strategy for the university
Undertake market research and provide market intelligence on the Indian market to the International Recruitment Team based in Keele, UK, to support the wider marketing and communications strategy of the university
Support Departmental visits to India by University officials by organising in-country recruitment activities and providing logistical support for travelling staff
Oversee data capture from events and agents. Ensuring the GDPR-compliant storage and transfer of data between In-country and Keele University. Ensuring that leads gathered from events are appropriately stored on In-country’s leads monitoring sheet and then followed up to convert from enquiry to application/ offers to acceptance
To attend education events across India to meet with potential Keele University applicants and guide them on the University’s courses and entry requirements
Oversee team management and provide ongoing mentoring and support to team members.
International Partnerships and Industry Links
Provide logistical and operational support for partnership-related activities, including senior-level delegations from Keele University.
Collaborate with Keele University to research, evaluate, and support partnerships with Indian universities.
Generate market intelligence on graduate employability trends in India and share insights with relevant units.
Manage professional communication and relationship-building with academic and industry stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Keele University’s values and strategy.
Communication and Liaison
Advising the University on the content and relevance of marketing collateral for the Indian market.
Rolling out In-country’s agent communication strategy for Keele University.
Developing and maintaining productive relationships with schools, universities, agency partners, and other key stakeholders in India.
Conducting market research and providing market intelligence on India to the University’s wider International Recruitment Team in the UK to inform strategy.
Identifying and targeting schools across India to increase Keele University’s brand visibility.
Engaging with school counsellors and delivering sessions for students to raise awareness of the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Handling daily enquiries and ensuring timely responses to agents and prospective students.
Submit weekly activity reports (detailing actions and outcomes) by the end of each week.
Supporting wider University-led projects and initiatives when assigned.
