Position Overview
In-country is a British education management company launched in 2016 and now has a team of more than fifty people across Delhi, Mumbai, Lahore, and the UK. We manage the South Asian student recruitment operations for multiple blue-chip international universities and work on creative and exciting projects for many others. Our main office is located in Amar Colony, New Delhi.
In-country is looking to appoint a Conversion Officer to work as part of the International Marketing team for our client, Aston University. The Officer will support the delivery of effective student conversion activity across key international markets, playing a critical role in the student recruitment journey and contributing to the University’s long-term sustainability. The primary focus of this role is to engage with prospective students and offer holders through multi-channel conversion activity, including call campaigns, WhatsApp query management, webinar support, and enquiry inbox management. The post holder will guide applicants through their journey from enquiry to enrolment, addressing questions related to academic programmes, scholarships, and enrolment processes, while delivering a consistently high standard of customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver conversion-focused outreach to prospective students, applicants, and offer holders across designated international markets through outbound call campaigns, WhatsApp communication, email, and other approved channels, in line with agreed targets and timelines.
Act as a key point of contact for student enquiries, providing timely, accurate, and student-focused guidance on academic programmes, application processes, enrolment steps, tuition fees, scholarships, accommodation, and other aspects of studying at Aston University.
Support the applicant journey from enquiry through to enrolment by offering personalised follow-up, addressing concerns or barriers to conversion, and ensuring a positive and consistent applicant experience.
Manage and respond to enquiries received via WhatsApp and the central enquiry inbox within agreed service-level standards, maintaining high standards of customer service at all times.
Support the delivery of online conversion activities such as webinars, virtual events, and call campaigns, including post-event follow-up and engagement with attendees.
Work collaboratively with International Marketing, Admissions, and relevant university stakeholders to ensure coordinated and effective conversion activity and timely resolution of applicant queries.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all applicant interactions, status updates, and follow-ups using internal CRM or student tracking systems, ensuring data integrity and supporting reporting and future outreach.
Contribute insights on applicant behaviour, common queries, and conversion challenges to inform marketing strategies and improve recruitment outcomes.
Support ad-hoc conversion initiatives and campaigns during peak recruitment periods and demonstrate flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends when required.
Communication and Liaison:
Support the delivery of In-country’s agent and counsellor communication activities for Aston University across India, helping to keep recruitment partners informed and engaged.
Build positive working relationships with schools, education agents, counsellors, and other stakeholders to support student recruitment and conversion.
Assist with the planning and delivery of recruitment and conversion activities such as student events, offer-holder sessions, and partner engagement activities.
Support student engagement initiatives, including digital outreach and social media activity, in coordination with Aston University’s UK-based International Marketing team.
Share feedback, common queries, and market insights from interactions with students and partners to help improve recruitment and conversion activity.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification
Excellent written and spoken English, with an ability to confidently engage with International Audiences
Experience in a student-facing, sales, customer service, admissions, or recruitment environment
Comfortable handling enquiries across multiple channels, including phone, email, and messaging platforms such as WhatsApp
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, follow-ups, and deadlines
Customer-focused, proactive, and adaptable, with a problem-solving mindset
Confident in engaging with diverse and international audiences
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
Exposure to higher education, international student recruitment, webinars, virtual events, or digital campaigns is an advantage
A basic understanding of the international student recruitment and conversion journey is desirable
