Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Officer to join In-country’s growing India team. The selected candidate will support the finance function by managing bookkeeping and reconciliations, overseeing invoices, expenses, and payments, maintaining financial records and spreadsheets, and assisting with related logistics and travel arrangements. The role requires strong integrity, accountability, and adaptability in a fast-paced SME environment.
Employment Type: Permanent: 5 day work week - in office
Location: In-country University Hub, E-265, Amar Colony, Lajpat Nagar-4, New Delhi – 110024
Reporting to: Finance Manager
Main Duties and Accountabilities:
Ensures accurate and timely completion of bank reconciliations.
Oversees the computerized bookkeeping system (Xero) to maintain balanced financial records.
Is involved in processing invoices, payroll, and staff expense claims.
Manages petty cash, finance-related records, and logistics spreadsheets with accuracy and transparency.
Tracks and administers accounts receivable and payable for clients and vendors, supporting smooth financial operations.
Create projections based on existing financial data, analyse trends and variances, and provide insights to aid the management team in decision-making.
Coordinates staff travel arrangements in collaboration with the logistics assistant.
Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and adaptability while contributing to a fast-paced SME environment with significant opportunities for growth.
Communication and Liaison:
Liaise with banks, vendors, and clients to ensure smooth financial operations
Coordinate with internal teams to align financial processes with organisational goals
Support staff members by assisting with travel bookings and related logistics in collaboration with the logistics assistant
Provide timely financial updates and insights to management for decision-making
Ensure compliance with internal policies and maintain transparency in all financial communications
Qualifications and Skills:
Educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification/relevant professional experience)
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Excellent attention to detail and data handling accuracy
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Competent with Microsoft Office and data systems
Proactive, organised, and comfortable working both independently and within a team
Resourceful, with the ability to work effectively with limited resources.
Strong interpersonal skills and a professional attitude
